Just a little question about rs232

Hi!

I don't know if this is a right place to ask this but here it goes... I am building a small controller based on atmel's avr microcontroller. All I need to know is how I can open and use com-port. The program should only read single key (using the "key" command) and send that key from com1.

I think it has something to do with store -command, but how can I find out com1's hardware address?

RF is a x86 based FORTH. But well, you could find people here that know about Amtel chips. I can not help Sad

How about reading specs for your system?

I have no experience with the AVR microcontrollers, but on x86 the com ports are controlled by ports, not direct memory addressing. My x86 code for dealing with them is at http://retroforth.org/repos/902n/drivers/serial.forth
